Barangay Osorio, is one of the Barangay of Trece Martires City has been named in honor of Francisco Osorio, one of the martyrs sentenced to death by the Council of War during the Spanish Regime on September 11, 1896 and were executed the following day.

Osorio was born on 4 October 1863 in Cavite. His father, Antonio Osorio, was a Christianized Chinese originally named Tan Kim Ko. The older Osorio was a businessperson and was a partner of Mariano Limjap’s father. Later on, Antonio Osorio established his own firm and named it the Yek Tok Lin & Co. He also opened a cattle ranch in Silang, Cavite. Later on, he went into the shipping business and became an agent of Ynchausti & Co., which provided materials for the armory in Cavite. Osorio’s father was regarded as the wealthiest man in Cavite during his time. His mother was Petrona Reyes. Osorio studied at the Ateneo de Manila University and took a course in accounting although it is not known whether he finished the course or not.

Osorio was a member of the Katipunan chapter in the province, but it was not verified whether he was a mason. Alfonso de Ocampo mentioned him as among the leaders who planned a revolution against the Spanish government in their hometown. He and Maximo Inocencio were charged with the acquisition of arms. He was sentenced to death by a firing squad in Fort San Felipe.

His bones were placed in a vault and kept in the Porta Vaga Church in Cavite City.
In May 24, 1954, Congressman Jose T. Cajulis proposed House Bill 1975. Supported by Senator Justiniano S. Montano and Governor Delfin M. Montano, the bill was approved as Republic Act No. 981 entitled “The Charter of Trece Martires City” by the President Ramon Magsaysay.
Before the bill approved, the original name of Osorio was Project wherein it is composed of block and lot and was planned and proposed to become a subdivision before.

Furthermore, Osorio was part of San Francisco de Malabon now known as General Trias before it becomes part of Trece Martires City, Cavite. Barangay Osorio celebrates its annual fiesta every 27th day of November in honor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
